Moving
to Alaska, sight unseen, has proven to be the best
"leap of faith" choice I have made in my lifetime.
Alaska offers a beauty of place, diversity of
people, and an outdoorsman's heaven. Challenges of
daily living never cease.
For
example, Mr. Moose may delay a trip because he is
standing between you and your car, school does not
close even though it is -40 (and this may go on for
weeks), and 3 months of winter with very little
sunlight, etc. It has become home and I love it!

Since
1988 I have worked as a psychologist in the local
school district. I enjoy my job, the students, and
the wonderful people with whom I work. Life is about
many small acts of kindness.

Of
course, this can be applied to any aspect of life,
but I relate it most to my experience with weight
training. Being pushed beyond my physical limits
expanded my self assurance exponentially. Stepping
out of this comfort zone continues to positively
alter my perception of what I can endure and
accomplish.

Looking
at the bigger picture, the symbolic meanings behind
occurrences, rather than interpreting and reacting
to everything in a literal manner seems to help in
making inner life peaceful.
My
dreams are to be healthy, fit, of service to others,
and continue growing as an artist. The Chi Machine
has come into my life for a reason. What are your
